The Main Themes and Topics Covered in This Juzz/Para of the Holy Quran

Para 24, known as Faman Azlam, continues Surah Az-Zumar with a contrast between those who reject truth and those who accept it. Allah is sufficient for His servants, and no supposed protector can act independently of Him.

A central message is the invitation to repentance. Those who have wronged themselves are told not to despair of Allah’s mercy, but to turn back and submit before punishment arrives.

Hope is joined with urgency: forgiveness should lead to reform rather than delay. The surah closes with scenes of resurrection, the presentation of records, and just judgment.

Groups are led towards Hell or welcomed into Paradise according to their response to Allah’s guidance. The final praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all worlds.

Surah Ghafir begins by describing Allah as forgiving and accepting of repentance, while also severe in punishment. The angels who bear the Throne pray for believers, asking for their forgiveness, protection, and admission to Paradise.

The account of a believing man from Pharaoh’s household shows courageous advice in a dangerous setting. He warns against killing Musa and reminds his people of earlier communities and the coming judgment.

Pharaoh’s pride contrasts with the believer’s trust in Allah. Other passages expose the helplessness of false leaders and followers when punishment comes.

Allah invites His servants to call upon Him and condemns arrogant refusal to worship. Human creation, provision, and travel offer further signs for reflection.

Surah Fussilat affirms the Quran’s clarity and divine origin. It recalls the rejection of earlier peoples and describes how hearing, sight, and skin will testify against wrongdoers.

Those who affirm Allah as their Lord and remain steadfast receive reassurance. Believers are encouraged to call others towards Allah and respond to evil with better conduct.

The para closes by emphasising personal responsibility: righteous deeds benefit their doer, while wrongdoing brings harm.

Selected tafsir references (Ma’ariful Qur’an): 39:53; 40:28; 40:60; 41:30.
